Water park to make a splash at Broken Hill’s New Year’s Eve celebration
Broken Hill’s biggest party of the year is about to get even better! Essential Water is partnering with Broken Hill City Council to bring a water park to this year’s New Year’s Eve event.
Families can look forward to enjoying all the usual festivities, carnival rides, live music and delicious food but with the bonus of cooling off on a range of water slides.
According to Broken Hill Council’s Community Development Coordinator, Rachel Merton this year’s event will be one of the largest to date.
“The New Year’s Eve party is one of our biggest events of the year, and we’re really excited to join forces with Essential Water to expand it even further. The weather is always pretty warm at that time of year, so the water slides are going to be a very welcome addition to the lineup of attractions at the event. I want to thank Essential Water for their support and look forward to delivering a great event to the community on December 31,” Rachel says.

The slides are water-wise and will feature mister sprays, and any water run-off will help water the grass around the equipment.
Essential Water’s Head of Water, Ross Berry says that the party is a great opportunity to get involved and give back to the community and have a fantastic time.
“We’re incredibly pleased to be involved in the New Year’s Eve celebration, and we are thrilled to partner with the Broken Hill City Council for such an important community event,” Ross says.
This year’s event will also feature a fireworks display. The council have opted to hold one large show at 9.15am rather than separate smaller shows during the evening and at midnight to lessen the disruption for pets and still ensure the younger kids don’t miss out.
Join us on Tuesday, 31 December, for a night of fun, music, and celebration as we welcome the New Year together!
